What to Do When Isolating?

We may be in this boat together for a long time. We all want to be able to go to dinner with friends or just go somewhere without having to wear a mask.

But, that’s not the way things are. The Gita tells us that our attachments to people, ideas, things cause us sorrow. Once we are in sorrow, dominoes start to fall and life feels like it has gotten away from us. Sorrow is not a place to hang out because it only creates more sorrow.

What better gift to give ourselves than to study how our mind works and to then practice taking care of it instead of letting it run our lives? No matter what great teacher you learn from, what great tomes from whatever culture appeal to you, why not pick one? You can choose psychological freedom or slavery to a mind that runs on automatic.

I would like to go out to an Italian restaurant with good friends but I’m not attached to the idea. Like cutting a daisy, I watch the thought come loose with the scissors of my mind.
